Welcome to Compass IL
We are part of a network of Wisconsin Independent Living Centers that are non-residential, private, non-profit, consumer-controlled, community-based organizations providing services and advocacy by and for persons with all types of disabilities.
Our goal is to assist individuals with disabilities to achieve their maximum potential within their families and communities.
The mission of Compass IL
To provide services and opportunities for persons with disabilities to exercise their right to full participation in the community.
Compass IL provides services for people with disabilities living in Barron, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Clair, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk, and St. Croix counties.

Board of Directors
Our Board members, appointed for a three-year term, are expected to regularly attend Board meetings, which take place six times a year, and be a member of at least one committee, which will meet a similar number of times. Meetings are usually held in Menomonie, but may on occasion be held in other locations within the service area. There are 13 members on the Compass IL Board of Directors, 51% of whom must have a disability.

Interested in becoming a Board member?
Compass IL is looking for energetic, dynamic, committed persons with disabilities to become members of a governing Board of Directors for a consumer-controlled organization serving people of any disability in 10 counties in Western Wisconsin. The Board meets six times per year. Travel arrangements are the responsibility of the Board member, but travel reimbursement may be available for expenses incurred.
