What is WisLoan?

WisLoan is a statewide alternative loan program that allows Wisconsin residents with disabilities to finance assistive technology or equipment needed to live more independently and productively.

Low-interest loans can be used to purchase:

  • Wheelchairs and motorized scooters
  • Hearing aids
  • Magnifiers and other visual aids
  • Home modifications such as control/switches for lights, doors, and appliances
  • Accessible vehicles or modifications like lifts and adaptive hand controls
  • And more!

How much money can I borrow?

Loan amounts start at $500 and can go up to $80,000 depending on your purchase and your ability to repay.

Who can apply?

  • Must be a Wisconsin resident
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Any individual with a disability
  • Any individual on behalf of a person with a disability
    • Parents
    • Children and other relatives
    • Spouse
    • Personal caretakers
    • Legal guardians

You may qualify for down payment assistance!

The WisLoan Down Payment Assistance Program works with WisLoan applicants to reduce the overall amount of the loan, which reduces monthly payments and the overall debt-to-income ratio. Learn more.
